Composite Belgian Made Flintlock African Trade Gun with French Military Parts
About .68 caliber. 29.5" barrel length. SN: NSN. Single shot flintlock rifle with a blade front sight. Bright metal finish. Walnut stock has a plain straight grip with cheek rest on left side and forearm with two barrel bands. Markings include "Mre. Rle./de Culle" to center of lockplate. Buttplate is marked with a circled "N" mark above "1491" to top of heel. Buttstock is marked with a circled "{crown/L}" cartouche surrounded by marks that appear to read "F.G.L.H." and dated "1867". Item features a ring neck cock, and sling swivels on the middle barrel band and set the rear tang of triggerguard. Included is a flat head steel ramrod that appears to have been shortened at some point. Item appears to be a composite Belgian military or trade rifle with French and African parts.
Condition:
Good. Bore is dark with oxidation and residue. Finish is ok, with thinning and pitting to barrel and metal furnishings. Wood stock has scratches and mars scattered overall. Action is functional and item appears to be with original flint.
