Colt Third Generation 1848 Dragoon
.44 caliber. 7.5" barrel length. SN: 36971. 4-screw frame. Single-action 6-shot percussion revolver. Blued metal finish to barrel and cylinder, with a case hardened finish to the frame, hammer, and cartridge extractor. Item also has a high polished brass finish to trigger guard and grip straps. There are two plain walnut grips. Features engraved cylinder with a scene of army rangers, script, and manufacturer name. Marked with standard manufacturer marks to half octagonal portion of barrel. Has Sam Colt signature engraved into brass backstrap of grip, serial numbers to bottom of frame, and patent marking to left of frame. This item is a 3rd generation replica of the original 1848 Colt Dragoon, most likely made by the Uberti company.
