** Colt Police Positive Special
.38 Special caliber. 6" barrel length. SN: 179318. Double-action swing out cylinder revolver with topstrap notch and front blade sights. Item features a blued metal finish with checkered black plastic grips showing "COLT" at top of each panel. Interior of grip panels numbered "179318". Left frame shows "{Colt Rearing Horse Logo}" while left barrel marked "POLICE-/POSITIVE. 38 SPECIAL". Top of barrel has two line marking reading "COLT'S PT. F.A. MFG. CO. HARTFORD CT. U.S.A./PAT'D AUG. 5. 1884. JUNE 5. 1900 JULY 4. 1905." Left edge of triggerguard shows "VP" verified proof mark and "3". Serial number indicates the weapon was manufactured in 1919.
Condition:
Excellent. Bore is minty with strong rifling throughout. Blued metal finish is excellent with some light scratches and wear to edges of left frame panel and interior seam of crane. Cylinder shows faint drag lines. Grips show a small scratch to underside of right panel. Cylinder latch shows wear to surface. Action functional with a tight lockup.
