** Colt Improved Model New Service
.44-40 caliber. 5.5" barrel length. SN: 311158. Double-action hand ejector revolver with topstrap notch and blade sights. Blued metal finish applied overall with hard rubber grips displaying "COLT" above checkering. Left frame shows the "{Rampant Colt}" design while left barrel is marked "NEW SERVICE .44-40". Top of barrel is marked "COLT'S PT. F.A. MFG. CO. HARTFORD CT. U.S.A./PAT'D AUG. 5, 1884. JUNE 5, 1900 JULY 4, 1905". Markings to top of barrel are faint. Revolver retains its lanyard loop and ring. Likely 1920 year of manufacture.
Condition:
Very good. Bore is bright with some patina near muzzle. Blued finish shows handling and edgewear, some flecked patina to hammer and trigger, and scratches on barrel. Four discolored spots to right frame where finish has worn off. Cylinder shows some pinpoint patina forming. Grips show light handling wear with some scratches at edges and chip to bottom of left panel. Action is functional and locks tightly.
