Colt Cloverleaf House Pistol with Display Case, Ephemera Related to 1884 Cincinnati Riots

.41 short rimfire. 3" barrel length. SN: 97. Single action 4-shot revolver with fixed notch and blade sights. Blued metal barrel and cylinder, with a two-piece brass frame. Plain kidney bean shaped walnut grips. Item has an acid etched frame panel that reads: "FOUND IN THE/RUINS of the COURTHOUSe/Mar. 31./BY, A.J./PATTEN/1884". Included is a checkered wood case with a glass window lid, as well as a news article and illustrations from 1984 that commemorate the 100th anniversary of the Cincinnati Courthouse Riots of 1884. Item is marked "COLT'S HOUSE PISTOL/HARTFORD CT. USA" to top of barrel. The serial number dates this item to 1871 manufacture. 


Poor to fair. Bore is dark. Possibly refinished or buffed at some point. Finish has thinning, surface oxidation, and light pitting overall. Wood grips have some dings and scratching. Action is functional but timing is off and cylinder does not rotate when hammer is cocked. Item is missing cartridge extractor
