Single-shot semi-automatic pistol with two-toned removable 7-shot magazine, exposed hammer, long grip safety, arched mainspring housing, military lanyard ring, and fixed u-notch and half moon sights. Parkerized metal finish with checkered brown plastic grips. Features checkering to short spur hammer, arched mainspring housing, shortened trigger, graduated thumb safety, slide lock, and magazine release. Markings include standard two-line manufacturer patent dates and Hartford address surrounding a rampant Colt mark to left of slide. Left side of frame features Col. Frank J. Atwood (FJA) and (P) proof marks behind trigger guard cutaway. Right side of frame has markings that include partial Ordnance Department (Crossed cannons) mark behind grip, with "UNITED STATES PROPERTY", model name, and serial number marks above trigger guard. This specimen was manufactured sometime in 1943.
Very good. Bore is bright and rifling is sharp but has visible residue to grooving. Finish is in good condition only showing losses to frame near slide lock and a light patina to front strap. Grips are in great condition.
