Single-action semi-automatic pistol with 7-shot removable magazine, exposed hammer, military lanyard ring, arched mainspring housing, long grip safety, and fixed u-notch and ramp sights. Parkerized metal finish with checkered brown plastic grips. Features checkering to short spur hammer, arched mainspring housing, graduated thumb safety, slide lock, and magazine release. Markings include standard two-line manufacturer patent dates and Hartford address surrounding a rampant Colt to left of slide. Left of frame shows Brigadier General Guy H. Drewry (G.H.D) and (P) proof marks. Right side of frame has several marks including a partially struck Ordnance Department (Crossed cannons in circle) mark behind grip, "UNITED STATES PROPERTY", model name, and serial number. According to the serial number, this specimen was manufactured sometime towards the end of 1943.
Fine as refinished. Marks and lettering to slide do not appear as sharp as they do on frame. However, the bore is immaculate and rifling is sharp. Parkerized finish with no noticeable defects or losses. . Aside from a few very light scratches.
