Colt 1877 Sheriff's Model Lightning Revolver
.38 Long Colt, 3.5" barrel, S/N 41585 (mfg. ca1883). Blued and color casehardened finish, checkered Rampant Colt logo hard rubber grips. Double action, 6-shot revolver. Visible serial numbers match. Standard two-line barrel address, three-line patent date marking on frame, triggerguard web marked 38 CAL. Remnants of COLT DA 38 etched panel marking on left of barrel. Long cylinder flutes, long knurled cylinder arbor pin, no ejector rod.
Condition:
Good. Retains traces of blue and case color with moderate amounts of surface oxidation and some light surface rust. Markings remain legible, mechanically functional, good bore with moderate oxidation and some pitting. Grips faded to a chocolate brown color, solid and free of breaks and cracks, but showing some wear and smoothing to the checkering.
