Colt 1862 Police (Standard Production Model)

.36 caliber. 4.5" barrel length. SN: 42047. Single-action percussion revolver with fixed 5-shot half fluted cylinder and fixed brass conical front sight. 3-screw frame with small trigger guard. Blued metal finish, brass grips and trigger guard, and plain one piece walnut grips. Marked with "NEW YORK" address to top of barrel, "COLT'S PATENT" to left of frame, and ".36 CAL" to left of trigger guard. Serial numbers are all matching. Made in 1870. 

Condition:

Fair. Bore is dark and there is residue to rifling. Cartridge chambers are dark. None of original finish or case hardening appears to remain, and there is scratching, pitting, and surface oxidation overall. Patina to brass grip straps, and there is scratching to both grips overall.
