Colt 1851 Navy Revolver 4th Model with Ivory Grips

.36 caliber. 7.5" barrel length. SN: 100890. Single-action percussion revolver with octagonal barrel and ivory grips. A blued metal finish is applied overall with the gripstraps and triggerguard in brass. Cylinder shows the iconic Naval Scene roll-engraved onto Colt Navy pistols. Barrel is signed "ADDRESS SAML COLT HARTFORD CT." Left frame is marked simply "COLTS/PATENT". Serial numbers to gripstraps, triggerguard, frame, arbor, barrel, wedge, and cylinder all match. The weapon features a three screw frame and lacks the cutouts for mounting a shoulder stock. Manufactured circa 1861.

Condition:

Good. Bore is dark with patina throughout and some patches of oxidation. Barrel and cylinder have a dark brown patina overall while frame is a mottled gray patina. Gripstraps show some tarnish at edges. Nipples are rusted and show firing wear. Some mars around breech of barrel near cylinder and scratches to cylinder itself. The safety notches to cylinder have been worn down. Ivory grips have cracks running along left panel near butt. Chip to forward edges of grips. Grips do not fit fully flush with frame or gripstraps. Action is functional but lockup is loose.
