Colt 1849 Pocket Revolver
.31 caliber. 4" barrel length. SN: 148763. Single-action percussion revolver with hammer notch and front bead sights and octagonal barrel. Item features a brass triggerguard and gripstraps with one piece walnut grips. Casehardened frame, hammer, and loading lever with to the remainder including brass components. 5 shot cylinder is roll-engraved with a depiction of a stagecoach holdup. Item has matching serial numbers. Top of barrel shows two line marking "ADDRESS SAML COLT/NEW YORK CITY".
Condition:
Very good. Bore is frosty with patches of patina and some oxidation. Chambers are each a brown patina. Cylinder is an overall gray finish with brown patina forming in two large patches. Finish to brass gripstraps and triggerguards shows edge and handling wear. Casehardened finish to loading lever and hammer is strong but has faded on frame, particularly left side. Barrel shows crisp markings with edgewear and overall wear to blue. Grips retain varnish and show some small mars and handling wear. Action is functional and locks tightly.
