COLLECTION OF 4 MATHEW BRADY DAGUERREOTYPES

1) Velvet pad reads "BRADY'S GALLERY 205 & 207 BROADWAY NEW YORK." Handsome man gazing to our left. Wonderful use of color. Plate is an odd size: 4¾ by 4 3/16 inches. Housed in a brown leather push-button case.

2) Man wearing a silk ascot looking directly into the camera. Plate is 4 3/16 by 3 3/16 inches, or approximately quarter plate size (4¼ by 3¼ inches). Brown leather push-button case with velvet on front. Same exact size as Case #1. Attributed to Brady because of presentation.

3) Man looking to our left. Same presentation as #1 and #2, but smaller. Sixth plate overmatted. Case is 4¾ x 4¼ inches. Brown leather push button case. Attributed to Brady because of the similar presentation to above examples.

4) A couple. SheÕs standing with a slight grin, while he sits sternly. Quarter plate size. Velvet pad reads: "BRADYÕS GALLERY (205 & 207 hard to decipher) BROADWAY NEW YORK." Full case.

Condition:

1) Black and white spotting around the periphery. Yellow wax on the reverse of the plate. Resealed. Case in very good condition. 2) Tarnish on perimeter. Resealed. Yellow wax on reverse of the plate. 3) Daguerreotype and case are in very good condition. 4) A few white spots and mold spiders. Good to very good.
