[CIVIL WAR]. Tintype of Union soldier armed with revolver N.p.: n.p., [1860s].

Approx. 2 x 3 1/8 in. tintype full standing portrait of a young Union soldier in uniform, armed with a handgun in a holster on his belt. (Heavy tarnish around subject, with minor spotting throughout; unsealed.) Housed in a CDV-size pressed paper case (fully separated at spine, with some soiling and surface wear throughout). Note included with image identifies the subject as "Craton Orr. / Carrie Wilson's soldier / friend. / Died during the Civil / War. 1861-1865." Opposite side of note includes details about his death in pencil: "His head was shot / off by Canon / ball while marching / and his body marched / three or four steps / before it fell his / comrades said."

HDS did not locate a "Craton Orr."
