Sixth plate tintype of a standing Union soldier wearing a kepi and breast plate, and holding onto the barrel of his upturned rifle with both hands. N.p., n.d. (Significant scratching and abrasions to surface, along with spots of residue discoloring image in some spots, preserver with oxidation.) Housed in a pressed paper case (fully separated at spine, with heavy wear to surface including finish loss and peeling/separating in areas). Affixed to velvet pad is a 1 in. dial. circular red enameled I Corps, 1st Division badge (scratching to surface with residue, not removed from velvet pad for examination).
