18 x 22 in. lithograph (dampstaining, 4.5 in. horizontal tear at top edge). Record lists officers of the regiment and features various vignette scenes and portraits on the top third. A banner on the top of the memorial record reads, "We fight for our Rights, Liberty, Justice and Union."
The 37th US Colored Infantry was organized February 8, 1864, for three-year service. Under the command of Col. Nathan Goff, Jr., the regiment was regularly engaged including at the Siege of Petersburg, the Battle of Fair Oaks and Darbytown Rd., and the First and Second Battles of Fort Fisher.
