Quarter plate tintype of Corporal Orlo H. Jones in a Zouave uniform, complete with tasseled cap. Jones enlisted in August of 1862 and would reach the rank of first Sergeant before being wounded at Bethesda Church, Virginia in June of 1864. He was taken prisoner and died of his wounds about three weeks later. Although he is depicted with a Sharps rifle, there is no evidence that the 146th was ever issued this weapon. Studio backdrop shows a cannon, tent, and hand-colored American flag. Biographical information present on glued paper label behind image.
