Pair of documents from Alabama, Montgomery, Ala., both dated April 1st, 1863 and both bearing the item number 233. One from the Executive Department, signed by John Gill Shorter, Governor; the other from the Office of Auditor of the Treasury, signed by George Goldthwaite (1809-1877), General of State forces. Marked as being for the use of I.M. Agee, Impressment (Recruitment?) Service.
