The two frontis illustrations are rams - the Manassas and the Louisiana. Folding maps: "Reconnoissance of the Mississippi River below Forts Jackson and St. Philip made previous to the reduction by the U.S. Fleet under the command of Flag officer D.G. Farragut, U.S.N."  11.5 x 17.5 in.; "General Sketch of Approaches to New Orleans," 12.25 x 15 in.; "Plan of Fort Jackson Showing the effect of the Bombardment...". 12.25 x 18 in. 

Rebound in black cloth with red leather spine label and gilt lettering, approx. 8 x 9 in.
