Civil War Model 1850 Staff and Field Officer's Sword, Belonging to Colonel Thomas H. Ruger, 3rd Wisconsin,

.32" blade, marked on the throat of scabbard Ames Mfg. Co, Chicopee, Mass. Brass knuckle bow and pommel. Shagreen and brass wire wrapped handle. Blade etched with military motifs. Metal scabbard with brass bands and carrying rings. Scabbard marked Ames Mfg. Company, Chicopee, Mass. This sword, along with the following M1850 foot officer's sword, was likely carried in the Civil War by Ruger.

Provenance:Descended directly in the family of General Thomas H. Ruger

Condition:Handle has nicely tarnished and has not been cleaned. Blade retains a lot of the original polish with some staining. Scabbard's fittings still retains some of the gold gilt and blue finish.
