[CIVIL WAR - EQUIPMENT]. Model 1840 Musician's Sword and Scabbard by Ames,1864

28 3/16" single edged fullered blade, obverse ricasso marked with the inspector's initials "JH" over the date "1864", reverse stamped with the Ames company Chicopee, Mass. address. Hilt has a brass "D" guard, grip and ball pommel.  Complete with a black leather scabbard mounted with brass throat and drag.  The sword also comes with an incorrect 20th century European bayonet frog.

Condition:

Very good, blade in bright finish, hilt has light patina.
