CDV of youthful ensign (1862 Regulations) as indicated by single narrow cuff stripe, posed with sword. Natchez, MS: Hughes & Lakin, n.d. (dented lower corners). -- Dead letter office carte with tell-tale red ink number of an ensign with imprint. Cairo, IL: J.R. Brown, n.d. (perforations and grime typical of DLCs). -- CDV of paymaster (1864 Regulations) cradling sword. New York: R.A. Lewis, n.d. (upper corners clipped, else near excellent). -- CDV, presumably an ensign with sword having an unusually thick single cuff stripe. St. Louis: J. Sidney Brown, n.d. (single pin hole at top with dented lower corners).-- CDV, propped against a flag folded over the table is a bearded ensign (1864 Regulations). N.p.: n.p., n.d. (trimmed slightly top and bottom, else near excellent). -- CDV of a pleasant Brown Water Navy ensign wearing an unknown cloth bow pinned to his frock coat. Sterling, IL: W. Cavert, n.d. Possibly an Illinois Brown Water Navy officer from inland Sterling (excellent).
