[CIVIL WAR]. A group of 4 stereoviews featuring African American soldiers, comprising:

7 x 3.5 in. stereoviews on cardstock mounts. New York, NY: E. & H.T. Anthony, ca 1861-1865. Publisher's imprint and titles on paper label affixed to verso alongside period ink inscriptions with series numbers and the name "H.J. Bardwell." Titles include: Negro Camp, 27th Regiment Ohio Colored Trooper before Petersburgh, Va. (small paper tear to upper edge of right panel); Bombproof Quarters of Maj. Strong, at Dutch Gap, 16th N. Y. Artillery (wear to mount edges); Camp Cooking, Army of the Potomac, near City Point. Va. (stray marks and spotting throughout upper portions of both panels); Dutch Gap Canal and Group of Soldiers. Taken after the bank was blown out. On the extreme end a portion of the bank remains, which forms a profile, which the soldiers call Jeff. Davis (wear to mount edges).
