[CIVIL WAR]. A group of 3 ninth plate images, incl. tintypes of young Union privates. N.p.: n.p. [1860s].

Ninth plate tintype portrait of teen-aged boy who appears to be a freshly minted artillery or cavalry private in regulation shell jacket, his buttons highlighted gold. The subject wears a slouch hat with one side rakishly pinned up. (Few spots on plate, image with strong clarity and contrast.) Housed in scroll/geometric Union case with ruby ambrotype of young man wearing a large bowtie. (Some slight surface wear near mat opening.) Case with corner/edge chipping. 

[With:] Ninth plate tintype of anonymous young infantry private. (Image dark, surface wear to plate including scratching.) Housed in full octagonal thermoplastic case with scroll design (chips to edges/corners, surface soiling and wear).
