CDV of Henry Longwell, taken in civilian clothing after the war, with pencil and inked identification, possibly added in different hand. Delaware, OH: Fine Art Gallery, Prof. Couch, Proprietor, n.d. [ca late 1860s] (toning, light soiling and spotting, edge/corner wear to mount). - Circular metal badge, 3 1/8 in. dia., attached to chain, obverse inscribed "H. Longwell Co. H. 15 O.V.I.," reverse inscribed "G.D." (tarnish, some spotting). "G.D." may represent Gideon Ditto, an attorney in Lima, OH, who was Henry Longwell's brother-in-law. - Unidentified IV Corps, 1st Division metal badge attached to metal pinback, 1 3/8 in. long (surface wear and tarnish to badge and pinback). 

Accompanied by photocopied military records identified to Henry Longwell and information related to the 15th Ohio Volunteers. Delaware County, Ohio native Henry Longwell (1846-1920) enlisted at the age of 18 as a private and mustered into Co. H, 15th Ohio Volunteers on 2/22/1864. He was discharged on 6/10/1865.
