thread and sinew-sewn on hide; uniquely and colorfully beaded on a red backdrop the pictorial scene recounts the actions of a Sioux man fighting off a horse raiding party of capote wearing individuals; the scene is set with in a village, depicted by the four tipis on both the front and back. The front scene depicts the Sioux man on horseback fighting off one of the charging raiders, who is also riding a horse and fires his rifle as he charges; the back shows the hooded raiders stealing the prized ponies which have been kept within the village, and 10 evenly spaced pipes, length 22 in. x chest 41 in.
