Charles Philippe, King of France, 1793 French Military Service Award Signed

Partially printed document on vellum, signed Charles Philippe and Le Duc De Montmorency, 1p, 15.5 x 19 in. A fine, ornate document with decorative border, featuring heading (translated from French to English), "In the Name of the King," granting a commission in the French military to Monsieur Camuee [spelling?] (Charlen, Simon). Dated March 18, 1815. Charles Philippe (1757-1836) was Count of Artois, a Colonel-General in the Royal National Guard, and "Fils de France." Louis Joseph de Bourbon (1736-1818), or the Duke of Montmorency, was a French noble and military officer.

Condition:Folds in document. With wear along the edges and corners, with thin line of tape adhered along right edge. With some scattered soiling, spotting on document.
