Oil on antique cutting board made from one plank with breadboard ends, 17.25 x 25 in., signed lower left "C. Munro." A folk art scene capturing a group of soldiers standing guard, with an officer just arriving, being questioned by other soldiers. An encampment is visible in the background. A young soldier is shown preparing coffee by the fire in the foreground. 

Printed description from previous auction listing indicates that this painting was exhibited at the Yager Museum at Hartwick College in Oneonta, NY, in 1984.
