Fine. Retains most of a period nickel finish with a milky age patina. While the nickel appears to be absolutely from the period of use, the nickel plating of firearms was a process in its infancy when this revolver was produced circa 1861. Some American retailers like Schuyler, Hartley and Graham were offering nickel plating during this period but such finishes are extremely rare prior to the latter half of the 1860s. All markings and engraving remain clear and crisp, revolver remains mechanically functional with a fine bore that shows moderate oxidation scattered along its length. Grip shows some light wear and handling marks with some minor flattening to the sharp tips of the checkering. Case and accessories all remain in very good to fine condition, especially the mold. Most items show some light to moderate expected wear, including the case interior.
