Stokely Carmichael is shown speaking to a crowd of approx. 5000 people at the University of Minnesota's Williams Arena. The caption notes, "Carmichael, who has vocalized the black power slogan, said Negroes must organize themselves around their own self interest if they are to achieve real power," adding that the SNCC indicated it would shift back into its "traditional role of undramatic political organizing" after Carmichael stepped down as chairman.
