Printed below illustration is a farsical oath sworn by the so-called "honest rumseller," detailing his terrible promises to "excite men to deeds of riot, / robbery, and blood," "Endanger / The Welfare of the community," "deal in drugs, which will deprive some of life," "corrupt the ministers of religion," and "Demolish the character, destroy the / health, shorten the lives, and ruin the souls of those who choose to honor me with their custom."
Pinholes, light creasing, vertical tear extending 1.5 in. from top edge, light surface surface soil, possible ink marks lower left, and wear to bottom edge and upper right corner.
