C. Roby U.S. Model 1860 Cavalry Saber

34.75" single-edged blade with 27.5" fuller, 1" wide at forte. Brass two-branch guard with wire-wrapped leather grip. Obverse ricasso marked with three-line C. Roby manufacturing markings with reverse showing U.S. marking, 1864 date, and "A.G.M." inspection mark of Abner G. Mosman.  Includes steel scabbard.

Condition:

Fair. Blade is mostly bright with some scattered oxidation and oil staining. Grip has lost most of its wire and shows some cracking. Brass parts show a dull luster. Scabbard is dark with scattered rust patches.
