Howe, Richard (1726-1799). 1st Earl Howe and British admiral who commanded the Royal Navy's North American Station during the American Revolutionary War. DS as admiral, "Howe," 2pp, 7.75 x 12.5 in., "onboard His Majesty's Ship the Queen Charlotte a Spithead." July 10, 1790. Shared with "His Royal Highness / the Duke of Clarence, / Captain of His Majesty's Ship / the Valiant." Outlines the "Order of Battle," with sailing and ship placement directives for the lee, center, and starboard squadrons of the British fleet. Includes a table listing the name of each ship and its number of guns, grouped by division.
