.56 caliber, flared to .78 at muzzle, 6" round, blunderbuss-style brass barrel, no S/N. Brass construction, smooth walnut grip. Obverse frame engraved with a panoply of arms and with the barrel engraved LONDON, reverse frame engraved H NOCK in a wreath. London commercial proof marks on bottom of barrel, concealed by bayonet blade. Box lock, flint lock action, snap bayonet under barrel released by triggerguard. German silver shield escutcheon in grip. Wood ramrod in pipes on reverse of barrel. Henry Nock worked in London ca 1770-1804.
Very good. Brass with a dull golden patina, markings and engraving remain clear, with some scattered bumps and dings in the metal. Mechanically functional, snap bayonet does not lock into place securely due to locking spring being weak. Good bore with moderate oxidation. Grip with scattered bumps and dings.
