BLACK DRIVER WHITE PASSENGERS & ST. AUGUSTINE GATES TIN

Tintype.

The place is the Gates of St. Augustine, Florida, the original walled city of North America. Here is an African American driver and his two Caucasian riders, preceded by two white horses. Notice the riding crop that extends into the air. Approximately 3½ by 5 inches. Very well composed.

Condition:Curved horizontally in the middle. Vertical scrapes on the far right. Tiny vertical scratch above heads of the white men. Very good contrast.
