Belgian Made Nagant Model 1895 Dated 1898
7.62x38mmR. 4.5" barrel length. SN: 47670. Blued metal finish overall with checkered walnut grips. Double-action loading-gate Nagant patent gaslock revolver with 7-shot cylinder and manually operated ejector rod. Item features topstrap notch and fixed front blade sights. Serial numbers match where visible on frame, barrel, cylinder, cylinder pin, ejector rod, and loading gate. Markings include L.NAGANT/BREVETE/LIEGE/1898 to left frame along with {Rampant Lion}/PV and {Star}/E markings to left hammer, right frame, and barrel. Barrel additionally marked {Crown}/R.
Condition:
Good. Bore is frosty with patina throughout and some light pitting. Overall metal finish shows some edgewear, mottled oxidation forming on barrel, some further flecks of oxidation at edges of frame, along with muzzle weakness and scattered scratches. Chip to edge of hand with some oxidation forming in seam. Breechblock has some oxidation forming along flanks. Scattered oxidation and mars to cylinder Grips have some weakening of checkering with some skips to both sides and dark stains overall. Action times and indexes correctly with slight wiggle to lockup.
