London: Published by the Author, 1848. 2nd Edition. 2 Volumes  xvi, 296; xii, 336pp. Twenty-four plates. 9 by 6 inches in the gilt and blind  pictorial blue cloth bindings with gilt titling to the spines. Volume One is signed and inscribed by the author: "Mr. A.B. Wright, from his friend, the Author, Geo. Catlin 1848." Howes C-241. Signed examples are quite scarce. 


Professionally rebound and restored with new yellow endpages but retaining the original gilt pictorial cloth covers. The errata slip is present in volume two (although bound in upside down) at page 303. There is occasional foxing/staining to a few pages but overall the contents are clean and fresh. The inscription to the front free endpage of Volume One is in ink and is strong.
