American, 18th century. A pair of country Chippendale chairs in black paint of peg construction, having serpentine shaped crests with well carved ears, pierced splats over rush seating, rising on marlborough legs with tapered rear stiles and stretcher support; ht. 39.5, wd. 20.5, dp. 19 in.

Item is in very good condition for age. Minimal surface wear.
