[AFRICAN AMERICANA]. Cotton Club program signed by Cab Calloway and Bill Robinson.

Program 9 x 12 in. ca 1937. Bill Robinson has signed his photo (p. 3, not numb), Cab Calloway signed his photo (p. 5). Numerous photos of female talent in and out of various costumes. Duke Ellington had the first house band shortly after the "Club Deluxe" was taken over and christened the "Cotton Club" in 1922. Cab Calloway (1907-1994) directed the neXt house band, beginning in 1931. The club launched the later careers of both men, and Calloway continued to work well into his 80's. Bill "Bojangles" Robinson (1878-1939) was a dancer who performed with Shirley Temple through much of the 1930s.
