The document lists the pay, clothing, forage, and subsistence payments for 1 "private servant, not soldier" as well as 2 horses of Samuel Sterne (1826-1901). The servent is listed as a negro named Ben Forrester. Samuel Sterne, a resident of Princeton, IN, enlisted on 10 October 1861 as a first lieutenant and commissioned into the Field & Staff of the 58th Indiana Infantry on 17 December 1861. He was mustered out on 11 November 1864.
