a ten gallon crock with exceptional form and glaze, exhibiting the best qualities of decorators for this pottery.
featuring a flaring, tooled rim and neck with two applied lug handles, profusely decorated, with cobalt-filled tooling lines on neck, bold freehand floral motifs bordered with dots and dashes above a stencil of the maker, arching above a central motif of roses and heads of wheat, the bottom finished with a bold capacity device flanked by dashes resting on squiggle and straight lines, both handles with bold cobalt semi-circular dashes.
Height 21 1/2 inches.
One small interior rim chip. Two hairlines to right of cobalt decoration, one with three prongs. Three prong hairline to back. Old chip to base.
