A Pennsylvania Cobalt-Decorated Two Gallon Stoneware Crock

McKenzie and Jackson, Beaver, Pennsylvania, Third Quarter 19th Century

with tooled rim and shoulder and applied lug handles, with faint chop mark of maker, surmounted by 2, decorated with two cobalt tulips and floral swag.  

Height 11 1/2 inches.

Condition:

Multiple spots fluoresce across exterior, corresponding to spider hairline visible on the interior under blacklight. Both lug handles with shallow linear spalls, each about 1" long, not affecting overall appearance.
