Jan Sorgenfrei, Findlay, OH

Provenance: Ex Earl C. Townsend, Jr., Indianapolis, IN; From the Collection of Jan Sorgenfrei, Ohio

Condition:

Of the four Knobbed Crescents in the Sorgenfrei collection, this one is the centerpiece.  Unfortunately, like so many others, this bannerstone was broken into two large pieces at the perforation that have been glued together.  There are also spots of restoration along the line of the break to repair the places where small pieces of the slate have popped out when originally broken.  The delicate expanding knobs are intact.
