This lot is a generous donation from H. Phillip Bamman. 100% of the proceeds from this sale will benefit the Daguerreian Society.

There are 22 items in this lot.

9 sixth plate daguerreotypes: 1 with split case; 4 in half cases; 4 uncased, but with mats and preservers. These range from fair to good condition with some wipes, stains, etc...

1 half plate daguerreotype, uncased. Dings (bumps) at around 6:00 and 9:00.

1 quarter plate bare daguerreotype plate.

1 sixth plate ambrotype, uncased in mat and preserver. Poor condition.

1 ninth plate ambrotype, in half case. Boy with a fraternal scarf, in front of a painted backdrop. By Folger of Boston (ad is on the back). Very good condition.

1 sixth plate ambrotype, with no case or parts.

4 ninth plate ambrotypes with no cases or parts.

1 quarter plate tintype, in half case missing the bottom rail. Girl and hand-colored plants. Very good condition.

1 sixth plate tintype, in mat and preserver. Older man. Good condition.

1 ninth plate tintype stamped MELAINOTYPE FOR NEFF'S PATENT. American Photographic Patents The Daguerreotype & Wet Plate Era 1840 - 1880, by Janice G. Schimmelman, lists the following for Neff's patent: No. 14,300; Photographic pictures on japanned surfaces; H.[amilton] Smith, assignor to Wm. Neff & Peter Neff, Jr. of Cincinnati, OH; Gambier, OH; Feb 19, 1856.

1 ninth plate tintype, also early melainotype, but not stamped.
