A Fine Four Gallon Stoneware Churn with Cobalt Lillies

Possibly Ohio, Second Half 19th Century

unmarked, of tall conical form with high flaring lip and tooled neck, with two applied lug handles and cobalt lilies on front and back, with freehand capacity mark and an additional stamped chop mark.  

Height 15 1/2 inches.

Condition:

10" crack to the left of the cobalt decoration on side with capacity mark. Lip of rim with numerous old, worn chips, otherwise no cracks or damage.
