AUCTIONEER'S NOTE: The case of this chest may be butternut.
Top of chest exhibits numerous stains and probably hs been reset. Top exhibits a number of old nail holes that have been carefully infilled with walnut patches. Front right corner of chest with spliced-in repair; top right corner of top drawer with evidence of patched repair; bottom drawer with patched repair about midway on the right edge. Patched repair in top middle edge of lower drawer. Drawer runners have been replaced and bottom of drawers reinforced with glue blocks.
