Garry Lewis, brother of Lambert and Wheeler, born in 1800, was brought west to Warren, Trumbull County, by his brother Wheeler in 1816. While his name appears on many wooden works clock dials from Trumbull County, there is no record to verify that he manufactured any parts himself. Instead he was largely a financier for pedlars, supplying various lumber, making contracts with large clock factories, assembling hordes of horses, mules and cattle for drovers, also buying tea and other luxury items of pedlars.1

A Minnesotan by birth and Swedish by heritage, Karen was naturally drawn to Scandinavian antiques, particularly Dala horses, and this sale offers a remarkable range of examples of this traditional child’s toy. But Karen also collected a range of other children’s items and the sale is replete with German pull-toys, Teddy Bears, child’s furniture and folk art, all chosen with a keen eye.
