.42 cup fire, 6" octagonal barrel, S/N 2527. Blued finish, silver plated brass frame, varnished rosewood grips. Left side of barrel marked MERWIN & BRAY NEW-YORK, cylinder roll marked vertically: PATENTED JULY 12, 1859 & JULY 21, 1863. Grips with matching serial numbers stamped inside.
Very good. Retains some blue on the barrel, mixed with an oxidized patina, frame with some tarnished silver remaining. Mechanically functional, clear markings, very good bore with some scattered pitting. Grips with much of their varnish and showing scattered bumps and dings.
