American, 19th century. A Belter parlour armchair in rosewood, the curved laminate back pierced with serpentine scrolls, framed with floral oak leaves, roses and grapes, elaborately carved crest rail applied, shaped and carved open arms over an upholstered back and seat with floral carved seat rail, all rising on shaped and floral carved cabriole legs; ht. 44, wd. 24, dp. 30 in.

Item is in overall good condition. Laminate loss to pierced back on vine, age splitting to laminate back.
