.44WCF, 30" round barrel, s/n 8845433 (mfg. c1919). Blued finish, straight grip plain walnut stock, full-length walnut forend with three barrel bands. Three-line Model 92 marking on tang, weak two line barrel address forward of rear sight. Barrel marked 44 W.C.F., Winchester proof on receiver. Sling swivels in toe of stock and on middle barrel band. Correct musket style ladder rear sight and front sight. Extremely rare saber bayonet lug on upper barrel band and accompanied by correct brass handled saber bayonet with a brass mounted leather scabbard. The 1892 Musket is the rarest of the 1892 variants, with saber bayonet equipped examples being truly scarce.
Fine. Retains much of the original blue on the receiver with most of the loss due to flaking. Barrel with some mottled blue, but mostly a plum brown patina with some scattered oxidation and pinpricking. Mechanically functional, good bore with evenly distributed pitting. Stock solid with scattered bumps and dings. Bayonet in fine condition, scabbard very good with some flaking and finish loss and some stitching loss on the reverse along the seam.
