.45 Colt, 7.5" barrel, s/n 5825. Blued and casehardened finish, walnut grips. All visible numbers match. Italicized barrel address, two line patent marking on frame with U.S. surcharge, "A" sub-inspections visible under barrel, on triggerguard, on backstrap, and on cylinder. Weak OWA cartouche on left side of grip. Bullseye ejector rod with early style housing with locating pin. Lanyard ring added to butt.
Good. Gun has a medium gray patina, with a slightly darker, smoky gray color to the frame. Gun shows some light surface oxidation, some finely scattered salt & pepper pinpricking, and indications of an old cleaning. All marks are fairly crisp and sharp, suggesting that some may have been freshened or reapplied, as they are generally crisper than the surrounding metal. Mechanically functional, good bore with lightly scattered pitting. Grips sanded, not numbered with a weak (possibly added) cartouche. An affordable, representative example Cavalry length Single Action Army.
